On March 3, 2021, we gave the prizes to the winners of the 1st Edition of the Reading Aloud Contest. This event took place on February 25th and March 2nd, at our Library, with the participation of 26 students from the 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades. This initiative aimed to celebrate reading aloud and foster reading habits.
The texts were freely chosen by the participants, based mainly on the narrative and poetic genre. All the contestants were committed to their preparation, choosing excerpts from very interesting works, by great names in literature, such as “The Bronze Boy” by Sophia de M. Breyner Andresen, “The Little Prince” by Antoine Saint-Exupéry, among others. Most of the students showed a good performance, despite the typical nervousness and anxiety that exist in any competition. They were all to be congratulated!
The winners of this edition were Miranda from 2nd grade, Ana Leonor from 3rd grade and Gonçalo from 4th grade.
